With few belongings and an uncertain future, Liz didn’t just find a school—she found a home filled with hope and endless possibilities.

Liz A. L., a young Venezuelan girl, arrived at Liceo Nueva Vida (New Life School) in seventh grade with her mother and relatives, seeking refuge and new opportunities after enduring the socioeconomic and political hardships of her home country. With few belongings and an uncertain future, she settled in Altos de Cazucá, where she found more than just a school—she found a home filled with hope and possibilities.

From her first day, Liz displayed resilience and an unwavering determination to overcome obstacles. In the school’s entrepreneurship program, she discovered a talent for crochet and knitting—skills that quickly became both a passion and a means to transform her life. With the support of her teacher and the school’s values-based training, she launched her own business. What began as a small dream grew into a microenterprise, enabling her to sell her creations, support her family financially, and continue her education.

An Extraordinary Artist

But Liz’s success extends beyond entrepreneurship. She has also thrived artistically and spiritually as a member of the school’s worship group, where she nurtures her passion for singing and music. Her talent for the violin and her dedication to learning the piano are testaments to both her commitment and the opportunities Liceo Nueva Vida provides to cultivate exceptional gifts.
