These children attend Liceo Nueva Vida, our Christian school serving 300 vulnerable students on the outskirts of Bogotá, Colombia. For many, it’s more than just a school. It’s their safe haven, their church, their family.
Liceo Nueva Vida (meaning “New Life School”) is breaking the cycle of poverty, violence, and hopelessness by providing an excellent academic and Christian education to vulnerable and low income children in the heart of an impoverished slum of Bogotá, Colombia. The school is a beacon of the hope in a desert of despair, and a path to opportunity and community transformation through academic and spiritual education. This incredible school serves as a tangible expression of the love of Christ to the people of the community.
Rescuing Children from Hopelessness
The community where the school is situated faces significant socio-economic challenges, making it one of the most vulnerable communities in the region. Despite some progress in reducing poverty, violence, and growing economic development indicators, there is still a long journey ahead to uplift the community.

Meet Matías:A Little Leader with a Big Dream
Matías lives with his mother, Jarley, in Soacha (a municipality just outside of Bogotá), in his grandmother’s house.
“It’s the two of us against the world,” says his mom with determination and tenderness. Together, they’ve built a strong, brave, and resilient family.
Three years ago, Jarley had to leave her job due to health issues and medical conditions—but also because Matías, as an only child, was spending too much time alone.

Many of our students come from homes marked by poverty, trauma, and instability. Our teachers are often the first consistent source of encouragement and care they’ve ever known.
We are committed to providing these dedicated educators with a fair and competitive salary so they can care for their own families while continuing to pour into the lives of our students.
As part of this campaign, we are seeking 5 Teacher Sponsors who will commit to supporting a teacher at $900/month.
