Meet Laura Sofía
A Calling That Blooms Amid Adversity
Laura Sofía is an 11th-grade student at Liceo Nueva Vida, a school supported by Impact Initiatives. Her life has been shaped by early abandonment, financial hardship, and the unwavering support of her grandmother and father.
Raised from the age of 18 months by her grandmother after her mother left, Laura faced instability and emotional struggle—but she never lost her thirst for learning and her hopes for a better future. Even during unfriendly school environments and the challenges of the pandemic, she remained determined to persevere.
Finding a True Home
In 2024, Laura enrolled at Liceo Nueva Vida—and discovered more than just a school: she found a nurturing community. A place that welcomed her with love, dignity, and genuine opportunities for personal and academic growth.

Service and Dedication
Inspired by the compassion and care of her new community, Laura discovered her calling: nursing. She is now a resilient, grateful, and purpose-driven young woman, eager to bring healing—not only to bodies, but to lives and spirits as well.
“I preferred being at school than at home. Here, I learned that helping others costs nothing, and that believing in God is more than attending church—it’s about living with purpose.”
Laura dreams of becoming a professional nurse—bringing the same dedication she used to heal her own story. Brave, focused, and principled, she’s ready to step into a future she’s worked hard to build. All she needs now is a chance.
Empowering the Next Generation
Laura Sofía is living proof that Liceo Nueva Vida transforms lives. Her journey is a powerful invitation to support other young leaders who just need someone to believe in them.
Your sponsorship provides more than financial aid—it provides stability, dignity, and affirmation. You’re not just supporting a student—you’re investing in a brighter future for all.
At Liceo Nueva Vida, every student can dream freely. Every challenge becomes a chance to grow. The school has strengthened Laura’s communication, creativity, and critical thinking. It’s become her second home.
