Liceo Nueva Vida (meaning “New Life School”) is breaking the cycle of poverty, violence, and hopelessness by providing an excellent academic and Christian education to vulnerable and low income children in the heart of an impoverished slum of Bogotá, Colombia. The school is a beacon of the hope in a desert of despair, and a path to opportunity and community transformation through academic and spiritual education. This incredible school serves as a tangible expression of the love of Christ to the people of the community.
The community where the school is situated in the municipality of Soacha, Cundinamarca, faces significant socio-economic challenges, making it one of the most vulnerable communities in the region. Despite some progress in reducing poverty, violence, and growing economic development indicators, there is still a long journey ahead to uplift the community.
Despite the economic constraints of the community, our New Life School strives to provide high-quality education, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive.  We have a big vision to see this community flourish, starting with these children!

Liceo Nueva Vida is our “New Life School” that is breaking the cycle of poverty, violence and despair by providing excellent academic and Christian education to vulnerable and low-income children in the heart of a poor neighborhood of Bogotá, Colombia. The families or guardians of our students contribute a small part of the cost of school tuition. They must trust the generosity of our donors to provide the remaining cost of enrollment for Impact Initiatives to continue operating the school. Each family pays approximately USD $34 per month of the total tuition cost of USD $120 per month. We need a sponsor like you to contribute $43 each month to help cover the cost of tuition for each student. Additional funds are raised through grants and donations from individuals, businesses and organizations to completely pay for the cost of the child’s education at Liceo Nueva Vida. Your Sponsorship is essential to a better future for the child you selected.
Engaging Afterschool Program is Reaching Kids
Many children at our school come from single parent homes where every day is a struggle for survival. During the school day, our students are safe under the loving care of our teachers and staff. But once the school day ends, they often go to their homes and are left to themselves until a parent or guardian returns home from work. This can be dangerous in a community that is filled with many temptations and troubles.
Seeing the need to care for our students past the school day, and with a desire to see them continue in their intellectual, emotional and spiritual development, we have begun an afterschool program for our kids. Four days each week from 2PM to 4:30PM the students participate in a program in the arts, sports, and academic instruction at no cost to them!
With the help of our partners at Pide Vida, for two of the days of the afterschool program we provide our students with engaging instruction in music with piano, guitar, and drum lessons. Or they can learn to express themselves through ballet or hip hop dancing. We also have photography, videography and skateboarding instruction. And there are plenty of organized sports and play time.
The other two days of the afterschool program are devoted to remedial academic instruction in which their teachers help tutor their students in areas they need extra help in or supervision to complete their projects and homework.
Each day the children spend some time learning from the Bible about Jesus and his love for them as demonstrated through the compassionate care of our staff.

Impact Initiatives is engaged in providing this life sustaining resource to underprivileged villages at no cost to them. Â This simple act is a demonstration of the love, and provides an opportunity to share the giver of love, Jesus Christ.
